Close Up of Amy Sue
Born and raised a Wisconsin farm girl, I moved
to Denver, Colorado in 1990 and Idaho Springs in 1994. I love
music, the outdoors and being on the river! I am an avid canoeist
and part-time, self-employed river guide. I also love to play
my mandolin, listen to music, dance, garden, hike, camp, backpack,
snowboard and outdoor hot tubbin’ on a snowy day. I
live in an off-grid mountain community w/ my son, Alden, my
cats, Craven, Miss Tillie and Chicken and my dogs Rufus and
ShyBear. I volunteer as a board member for one of the most
beautiful live music venues in Idaho Springs, United
Center Inc. I am a big fan of live music performances
and assist w/ sound engineering and lighting at United Center’s
monthly concerts.
My music show features some of
my favorite musical talents which include Gillian
Welch & David Rawlings, John Hartford, Allison
Krauss, Mollie O’Brien, Emmy Lou Harris, Taj
Mahal, Ry Cooder, Railroad Earth, Yonder Mtn. String Band,
Mad
Professor & Lee Perry, Jackson Browne, Johnny
Cash, Bessie Smith, Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Ron
Miles and the list goes on and on and on! I try to play a
variety of bluegrass, roots, rock, blues, country, folk, jazz,
reggae, dub reggae and R& B to name a few! I call it the
Mystery Show because ya’ never know what you’re
gonna get and because I am inspired by the mystery!
“It
is the dim haze of mystery that adds enchantment to pursuit.”
Antoine Rivarole
I enjoy the
occasional music jam and love to have live studio performers.
I also like to give local & travelling artists, who don’t
get much commercial radio play, a chance to be heard on KGOAT!
That’s just one of the many reasons I enjoy volunteering
my time as a DJ for Clear Creek Radio! KGOAT Radio is loved
and appreciated by so many members of our community and it
offers the opportunity for our listeners to enjoy music that
they might never have known existed! So, kick back or get
up and groove, but whatever you do – ENJOY THE SHOWS!
“The
most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious.
It is the source of all true art and science. He to whom this
emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and
stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.”
Albert Einstein

I am also on a mission to get the word
out for my great friend and hard-working artist, Steve,
who is an excellent photographer! His masterpiece photos
make great gift ideas for the holiday season, he is a
local but travels far and wide to get some really great
shots! He's hard core! So please check out his website
if you are interested in simply gazing at some tasteful,
"Ansel Adams" Quality photography! |
